2015文化財ウィーク『江戸城から明治宮殿へ』図録p.15「都立中央図書館が所蔵する明治宮殿に関する資料は、皇居造営に中心的な役割を果たした建築家、木子(きこ)清敬(きよよし)に由来するものです。木子清敬（1845-1907）は、内裏に関わる大工の家であった木子家を出自とし、宮内省に出仕後、皇居御造営事務局に配属され、造営の計画、施工から竣工後の残務整理に至るすべての段階に関与しました。赤坂仮皇居の御座所や木造御会食所も、木子清敬の設計によるものです。（Letter Appointing Kiko Kiyoyoshi to the Office of Construction of the Palace）The historical materials on the Meiji Imperial Palace kept in the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library come from the collection of Kiko Kiyoyoshi, an architect who played a central role in the construction of the Imperial residence. Kiko Kiyoyoshi (1845-1907) was from the Kiko family of builders who specialized in construction related to the Imperial household. After joining the Imperial Household Ministry, he was assigned to the Office of Construction of the Palace, where he was involved in the entire construction process, from planning to building and finishing.」
