2019文化財ウィーク展示資料解説p.5(13)，2015文化財ウィーク『江戸城から明治宮殿へ』図録p.18「明治宮殿の全体を描いた平面図です。何度も変更された皇居の造営計画ですが、明治16年（1883）には建物を和風木造、内装を和洋折衷とする案に決定し、翌年から工事が開始されました。明治21年（1888）10月27日に竣工を迎えた宮殿は、明治宮殿は、公的な儀礼や饗宴の場であった表宮殿と、皇族の居住空間であった奥宮殿、賢所などの祭祀施設から成り、それぞれ旧西丸跡、山里（旧西丸御殿の後庭）、吹上に造営されました。 また、この図では残念ながら空白となっていますが、洋風煉瓦造の宮内省庁舎も、現在と同じ位置に建設されました。（Plan for the Layout of the Imperial Sanctuary, Front and Inner Palace, to a scale of 1:600）This shows the layout of the entire Meiji Imperial Palace, consisting of the Front Palace where public ceremonies and banquets were held, the Inner Palace where the imperial family resided, as well as religious facilities such as the Imperial Sanctuary. The Front Palace was constructed on the site of the former Nishinomaru Palace complex, the Inner Palace on Yamazato (the site of the former Nishinomaru Palace garden) and the Imperial Sanctuary on Fukiage. There were also the brick Western-style offices of the Imperial Household Ministry, which still stand today, although they are unfortunately omitted from this plan.」
