2018文化財ウィーク展示資料解説p.3(13)「これも見立(みたて)番付(ばんづけ)です。「持○長者」とは、大金持ちのことです。番付の真ん中に、行司と勧進元が書かれており、“文句なしの大金持ち”を意味します。行司には、江戸の両替商・三谷三九郎が、勧進元には、越後屋と白木屋（現在の三越百貨店と東急百貨店）が肩を並べています。こうした長者番付から、江戸の町が栄えていたこと、今も昔も変わらず、「お金持ち」への人々の関心の高さを窺うことができます。（The Wealthy in Edo, New Edition）This is a ranking standings (mitate banzuke) generally called the list of the rich (chōjya banzuke). The amount of money is not indicated here, but the rankings list both Echigoya and Shirokiya (today's Mitsukoshi and Tōkyō department stores) as promoters. The referees include Mitani Sankurō, a money changer in Edo, who ranked.」，大規模企画展2012(26) 「江戸商人の金持の番付。現在の長者番付の元祖です。頻繁に出されていたようで、当館でも江戸、大坂をはじめ、日本の長者番付なども所蔵しています。番付はもともと歌舞伎や人形浄瑠璃などの興行に伴い、宣伝用のパンフレットとして印刷されたものでした。のちには相撲興行でも作られるようになり、さらに長者番付のようにそれらを模した様々な番付が作成されるようになりました。これらの番付を「見立番付」といいます。」，『第1回江戸資料展』図録解説p.21「長者番付といわれるもの｡金額は示していないが､越後屋･白木屋が肩を並べ勧進元になっている｡行事に三谷三九郎の名があるのも興味深い｡」，特別コレクション42-5「持○（丸）長者とは大金持のこと。幕末の弘化3年（1846）に刊行された江戸の長者番付である。住所が記載されているので、当時の有力商人の所在がわかる。日本橋周辺の地名が多く、蔵前や木場などの地名もある。また、「次第不同御用捨可被下候（次第不同ご容赦くだされるべく候）」と書かれ、順位等の抗議についてあらかじめ配慮していたことがわかる。長者番付は、関心が高かったらしく全国版、江戸版、浪花（大坂）版など様々な種類が作られた。This is a banzuke (ranking list) of wealthy people in Edo published in 1846. It shows the addresses of people, revealing where the influential merchants of the time lived. Many of the addresses are around the Nihonbashi area, but there are also addresses in Kuramae and Kiba.Below the name of this banzuke is a sentence apologizing for any differences in the ranking, indicating that they expected some debate about its accuracy.A lot of people showed interest in these banzuke of wealthy people, and a variety of them were published, including nationwide versions, and those limited to Edo, Osaka, etc.」
