『江戸の夏』図録解説p.5「円を等分し､16の名所に狂歌を付した双六｡庄屋と猟人と狐の休む箇所があって､拳と双六を組み合わせたところが工夫らしい｡両国の花火は天明老人の狂歌「上りたる花火の音に家根船の蟇の夜軍も物わかれせり｣にかけて上りの格に扱われ､さすが遊覧の最たるものである｡この年の2月､森田座で市川市蔵の天竺徳兵衛が大当りをとり､｢表方より大入の礼に百両よこせしを､表楽屋上下の隔なく連れて家根船にて百七十餘人……｣と『歌舞伎年表』にある一件を詠み込んだものであろう｡」，特別コレクション39-4「江戸の名所を題材とした双六も数多い。取り上げられる名所はそれほど大きな違いはないが、それぞれ趣向を凝らし変化をもたせている。この双六は名所の絵を円形に並べ、「狐拳」を取り入れたところが珍しい。「狐拳」とは、じゃんけんと同じような遊戯で、グー・チョキ・パーの代わりに狐と庄屋と鉄砲（猟師）で勝負する。この双六では、各人が狐、庄屋、猟師の札を持ち、右回りと左回りの二手に分かれてコマを進め、出会うと狐拳のルール通りに勝負が決まり、負けたほうがお菓子などを差し出すといった遊び方をしたらしい。各区画にも拳をからめたものらしく、「王子」には「此所は狐休足して泊」、「吉原」には「庄屋どの見物に来りて此処へ一夜泊」と、いわゆる休みの指示にも工夫が凝らされている。「上り」の文字が、そこに書かれた「上りたる花火の音に屋根舟の・・・」の狂歌の一部に組み込まれているのも洒落ている。(A new type of kitsuneken sugoroku (type of board game))There were many sugoroku based on famous places around Edo. There were no major differences between the famous places that the games were based on, but they reflected different preferences.This sugoroku depicts pictures of famous places arranged in a circle, and it is unusual for adopting kitsuneken. Kitsuneken is a game similar to rock, paper, scissors, except a fox, village headman and a gun are used. In this sugoroku, each player was given cards for a fox, a village headman and a gun. Players were divided into those who went around the board in clockwise, and anticlockwise directions. Whenever the players going in opposite directions met, they played kitsuneken, and the loser apparently gave the winner snacks and other things. There were also stories behind the instructions in each square referring to, e.g., the fox in kitsuneken, instructing the player to miss a turn due to "the fox taking a rest" at Ōji, or "the village headman going sightseeing and staying the night" in Yoshiwara.The word "agari (meaning 'finish' but also pronounced 'nobori' meaning 'to rise')" has also been stylishly incorporated into the comic tanka about the "sound of rising fireworks, and a roofed ship...."」
