2018文化財ウィーク展示資料解説p.12(56)「馬車や洋装の人々が行きかう、明治初期の銀座４丁目の交差点付近の商店街の風景を描いています。この時代、通貨(つうか)役所(やくしょ)としての銀座は日本橋(にほんばし)蛎殻町(かきがらちょう)へ移転し、正式町名の尾張町と呼んでいました。通称としての銀座が浮上するのは、明治5年2月の大火でこの一帯が焼失したあと、4代目東京府知事の由利公正が東京の中心街を不燃化建築にするにともない、煉瓦街(れんががい)に一変してからのことです。（Illustration of Owarichō of Tokyo）This print depicts the shopping center around the Ginza 4-chōme intersection in the early Meiji Period, with carriages and people dressed in Western clothes.
