2016文化財ウィーク(43)「足利尊氏が天下を平定し、弟直義は尊氏の命により、鎌倉に下向します。それを執権高師直(こうのもろなお)が迎え、桃井若狭之助と塩冶判官(えんやはんがん)が御馳走役を務めます。直義は、敵将の新田義貞の兜を鶴岡八幡宮に奉納することになり、兜の検分役に、判官の妻・顔世御前(かおよごぜん)が呼び出されます。師直は、美しい顔世に恋文を渡して強引に言い寄ります。それを若狭之助が止めたところ、師直は若狭之助を侮辱します。若狭之助は怒りのあまり思わず刀に手をかけますが、判官が制止します。（Kanadehon Chūshingura, Act1）Ashikaga Tadayoshi travels to Kamakura under the direction of his olderbrother Takauji, who had conquered Japan and established a Shogunate.There Tadayoshi is met by senior lord Kōno Moronao, who has instructedMomonoi Wakasanosuke and En'ya Hangan to prepare for an upcomingceremony. In order to offer the helmet of an enemy general to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine, Tadayoshi summons Hangan's wife KaoyoGozen to inspect the helmet. Moronao gives a love letter to the beautiful Kaoyo and makes romantic advances toward her. When Wakasanosuke stops him, Moronao insults Wakasanosuke. Forgetting himself in anger, Wakasanosuke reaches for his sword but is restrained by Hangan.」
