Two of the morning glory flowers at the front have unusually-shaped centers. Morning glory had been grown in Iriya from around the final days of the shogunate when they were popular, but growing them really became popular from the Meiji Period. After that, they underwent a variety changes, but today, morning glory fairs have been revived, and they have become customary events in summer along with ground cherry fairs.」
