2013文化財ウィーク（25）「初期の大奥の姿を描いた図面です。図の上が本丸御殿の表・中奥の方向です。大奥と中奥は銅塀によって厳重に区切られており、御鈴廊下だけでつながっていました。大奥の建物は、使用目的によって、御台所の御殿である御殿向、大奥の事務所である広敷向、大奥女中の住居である長局向にわけられていました。(Overall floor plan of Edo Castle Gohonmaru Ōoku in Kan'ei Period)The Ōoku and Nakaoku areas were strictly separated by a copper wall, and they were joined only by Osuzurōka corridor. The Ōoku area was divided according to the purpose of use into a palace for the lawful wife of the shogun, an administration office, and living quarters for housemaids.」
